Scotland is The Home of Golf. This great game has been played on these shores for centuries and golf balls have been hit round Scotland’s north-east coast for nearly as long as in any other part of the country.
Today, north-east Scotland boasts over 70 golf courses. From stunning links courses to magnificent inland ones, there are plenty of choose from. The region’s courses are often overlooked by golfers keen to play some of their more famous cousins. To overlook the courses of north-east Scotland is to miss out on some of the world’s greatest rounds of golf. It is this choice and the golfing heritage that runs through every Scottish course which inspired us to establish Scottish Golf Trails.
Based in north-east Scotland, Scottish Golf Trails is an exciting collaborative initiative to promote golf in the area. We have a passion for golf, the local area and Scotland, and hope to share some of our passion with you and to help you discover the area’s hidden gems.
With such a selection of courses to play it can be difficult to decide which to play. We aim to make that decision a little easier as we have selected some of the best links and inland courses that the area has to offer. We have also chosen some excellent accommodation providers in order to offer you a complete package that meets you requirements. Our trails are designed to be tailored to meet your needs to ensure that you make the most of your time – however long or short that may be – in the area.
The trails are easily accessible via the main UK road and rail networks, while the airports in Aberdeen, Dundee and Inverness have direct flights to all of the UK’s main airports and many northern and mainland European hubs.
The team at Scottish Golf Trails have over 50 years’ combined experience in the golf, tourism and hospitality industries, so you can be assured that you are in good hands as you plan your trip.
