Few places can evoke such stirring in a golfer’s heart as St Andrews, the birthplace of this great game. Golf has been played on the links here for centuries, but The Duke’s is a more modern addition, opening in 1995. It may be a youngster, but this championship course is highly regarded as among the best in Britain.

With a spectacular setting above St Andrews, this par 71, 7,512-yard heathland course gives magnificent views over the surrounding countryside to the sea. With five separate tee positions The Duke’s can offer a challenge to golfers of all abilities.

The round opens with a tricky par 5, before serving up a series of fantastic holes where good placement of the tee shot is required. It ends with testing par 4 that is a birdie opportunity.
